Privacy Policy
Effective · Last updated
Ridge EZ Pharmacy (“Ridge EZ,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a licensed pharmacy located in Brooklyn, New York. This policy explains how we handle information in two specific contexts: information connected with this website, and information connected with our text message (SMS) program.
Health information that we create or receive in the course of providing pharmacy services is governed separately, under federal and New York State health privacy law. See Your health information below.
1. Information we collect through this website
This website is informational only. It does not contain contact forms, accounts, logins, appointment requests, prescription requests, or any other feature that asks you to submit information about yourself. We do not collect personal information through this website.
We do not use cookies, advertising trackers, analytics services, social media pixels, or session recording on this site.
Our hosting provider automatically records standard technical information — such as IP address, browser type, and the time of each request — for security, abuse prevention, and reliability. We do not use this information to identify individual visitors, we do not combine it with pharmacy records, and we do not sell or share it.
Please do not send us health information through this website or by email. Email is not a secure channel. To discuss a prescription or any matter involving your health, call or visit the pharmacy.
2. Our text message (SMS) program
What the program is
Ridge EZ Pharmacy operates a text message program that sends prescription-related notifications to patients who have asked to receive them. Messages may include refill reminders, notices that a prescription is ready, and order status updates. In some cases you may reply to a message to authorize a refill or request a call back from pharmacy staff.
How you join
You are enrolled only if you give us your mobile number and tell us you want to receive text messages from the pharmacy. We do not buy, rent, or otherwise obtain mobile numbers from third parties for this program. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchasing any product or service from Ridge EZ Pharmacy.
Message frequency
Message frequency varies and depends on your prescriptions — for example, how many active prescriptions you have and when each one is due to be refilled.
How to stop messages, and how to get help
- Reply STOP to any message to be removed from the program. You will receive one confirmation message, after which we will not send you further texts.
- Reply HELP for assistance, or contact the pharmacy using the details in Contact us.
- You may also ask any member of pharmacy staff to remove your number.
Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Mobile information sharing
We do not share mobile contact information with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information may be shared with subcontractors in support services, such as customer service. All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
3. How we use information
Information you give the pharmacy is used to fill and manage your prescriptions, to contact you about them, to meet our legal and professional obligations as a pharmacy, and to operate the business. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
4. How we share information
We share information only where it is necessary, and only in these circumstances:
- Service providers. Vendors that operate systems on our behalf — such as our pharmacy software and messaging providers — may process information in order to provide those services to us. Where a vendor handles protected health information, we require a written agreement governing that handling.
- Prescribers and other providers involved in your care, as permitted by law.
- When required by law — for example, in response to a lawful request from a regulator, court, or public health authority.
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. As stated above, mobile opt-in data and consent are never shared with third parties.
5. How we protect information
We maintain administrative, physical, and technical safeguards intended to protect information in our care against unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your health information
Ridge EZ Pharmacy is a covered entity under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Your protected health information is governed by our Notice of Privacy Practices, which describes how we may use and disclose that information and the rights you have regarding it. [When the Notice of Privacy Practices is finalized, add: a copy is available at the pharmacy and posted at ridgeez.com/notice-of-privacy-practices — and link it here.]
This Privacy Policy does not replace, limit, or modify the Notice of Privacy Practices.
7. Children
This website is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through it. Prescriptions for minors are handled through a parent or legal guardian in the ordinary course of pharmacy practice.
8. Links to other sites
This site may link to systems operated by other organizations — for example, a prescriber ordering portal hosted by our pharmacy software vendor. Those systems are governed by their own terms and privacy practices, not by this policy.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always posted on this page, with the effective date shown at the top. Material changes to the text message program will be reflected here before they take effect.
